One of the first things to do when you get to Paris should be to get an unforgettable view of the City of Light direct from the Eiffel Tower whose 300 meter height provides a stunning 360° panorama.
From here you'll be able to mark out all of the other sites you'll want to see, like Sacré Coeur Cathedral, located in the north of Paris, on top of beautiful Montmartre, the Louvre Museum , in the heart of the city, and the Pont des Arts, Paris' sole pedestrian-only bridge, with its charming view of the Seine River.
Look westward, all the way past the Champs Elysées, for the modern, square form of the Arch of La Défense. Look more centrally and you'll see the equally geometric but more colourful Georges Pompidou Centre, also referred to as Beaubourg, home of countless art and cultural exhibits.
But to distinguish the Château of Versailles, you'll have to come back down and board the RER commuter train or grab the bus or your car. Even though it's outside of Paris, it's a place you won't want to miss!
