The oldest bridge in Paris
Built between 1578 and 1607, this was the first stone bridge without houses on it, but it was nevertheless home to shops and entertainers on its semi-circular open spaces. The statue of Henri IV that sits in the middle was also the first such effigy in France to be shown in a public place. Behind it is hidden a staircase, at the bottom of which is the Vert-Galant Square, the departure point for boats from Pont-Neuf.
